Park is Clean & Green. The monsoon has retreated, and the early winter breezes ,milder sun, have started to nudge the winter flowers into readying themselves to bloom later on.  Incidentally, Clean and Green was also the Theme of the Kasauli Khushwant Singh  Litfest, and the need for a clean and green environment was interestingly brought out by a writer Amitav Ghosh. In his book Climate of Change, the writer referred to the deterioration of the Environment, and the urgent need for Environment Regeneration. Else, our succeeding generations will have a lifeless landscape. An interesting observation that came to my mind, was that while we all paid lip sympathy to the need for a clean and green environment, we needed to take active steps , at our own levels. For instance, composting of plant leaves to create a rich fertilizer, is an easy way to do so. And instead of plucking flowers to make Presentation Bou...
Bee Stings in the Park. (By M.P.Singh) Since I had received an unexpectedly positive response from my readers, it enthused me sufficiently to attempt my hand at a second attempt. After all, we live in the Age of the Never Ending Serial, Prequel, and Sequel. Another walker appreciated the lines about the Lad...
Gold ! The Love Affair Never Ends ! The Festival Season has kicked off with renewed vigor, after the dampening effect of the Pandemic.        People are buying with a vengeance, especially precious metals like Gold and Silver. A recent video, widely circulated, gave a  guesstimate that 11% of the world's gold, was in the possession of Indian housewives ! Of course, these estimates are just guesstimates . Even usually reliable sources, run for shelter when asked about the factual basis. They say, Naa baba naa, Mera roti, kapda aur  makan, Khatre mein hoga!! It is quite understandable, since women have total control over these Essential Commodities!!Among other things. And the Indian ladies' love affair with gold is not going away, anytime soon. The Big Fat Indian Wedding, immortalized by Bollywood, will endure !! And along with it,as an essential adornment, gold and sona chandi, will remain the cynosure of attention, and an important yardstick of a family'...
