Bee Stings in
the Park.
(By M.P.Singh)
Since I had received an unexpectedly positive response from
my readers, it enthused me sufficiently to attempt my hand at a second
attempt. After all, we live in the Age of the Never Ending Serial, Prequel, and
Sequel. And when the going is good, bring out more of the same !
With this self serving realisation, I resolved to bring out
Part 2 of Further Musings in the Park. Hence, I wended my way to the nearby
park, to seek inspiration for my composition.
Fortunately, some of the evening walkers, and some others, who
called me directly, chose this moment to express their considered opinion about
the earlier composition. It was interesting but a trifle lengthy, said one.
Another one was less charitable, saying she thought I was capable of better,
more reader friendly reflections.
Another walker appreciated the lines about the Ladies in the Park.
Suitably chastened, I bowed and scraped my forehead,
promising to write an improved version soon. Hence, this second edition of
Musings.
Some walkers drew my attention to a minor crisis that has
resulted from a Bee-Attack on some walkers in the park.
At first, I did not appreciate the gravity of the situation,
confusing the Bee Attack with the Air Attack Acrobatic Rehearsals on the Akash
Ganga Diwas.
As is my habit, I thought of the old saying, being an
ex-taxman,
The tax man should extract taxes from the taxpayers
painlessly, As a Honey Bee extracts honey from the flowers.
Once a taxman,always
a taxman ! Again, I was apprised of the seriousness of the situation by another
walker,a dear friend from the Foreign Service, and advised not to be flippant. A
diplomatic Riposte !
On reflection, I realised that this Air Attack by Bees, unlike
the Air Acrobatics,by the Akash Ganga daring teams, could have serious
consequences, as bee stings have been known to have resulted in allergic hives.
In fact,Allergic Hives, the medical condition, has been derived from Bee Sting
cases.
Hence, I at once, informed a helpful park official, and he
promised, to do the needful.
Here I must take leave, and shall duly inform of the steps
taken,or not taken.
