Park is Clean & Green.
The monsoon has retreated, and the early winter breezes ,milder sun, have started to nudge the winter flowers into readying themselves to bloom later on.
Incidentally, Clean and Green was also the Theme of the Kasauli Khushwant Singh Litfest, and the need for a clean and green environment was interestingly brought out by a writer Amitav Ghosh. In his book Climate of Change, the writer referred to the deterioration of the Environment, and the urgent need for Environment Regeneration. Else, our succeeding generations will have a lifeless landscape.
An interesting observation that came to my mind, was that while we all paid lip sympathy to the need for a clean and green environment, we needed to take active steps , at our own levels.
For instance, composting of plant leaves to create a rich fertilizer, is an easy way to do so.
And instead of plucking flowers to make Presentation Bouquets, why not present Plants in Pots?
Incidentally, there is already an NGO in Chandigarh, collecting Waste Flowers from temples, to recycle them into bio degradable cloth.
