Musings in the Park.
I was not a regular morning or evening walker, but ever since a friend urged me to take a break from my sedentary life, I have started going to the neighborhood park. At first, such forays were largely sporadic, but
gradually, the pleasing green ambience stole my heart.
Pehaps it was in my imagination, but the well kept plants and flowers started to nod in sympathy at my starter struggles to keep up with the early birds. Encouraged by their tacit approval, I slowly became more regular in my walks.Since I keep my self busy in the mornings, running errands and household chores, the evening schedule of walks better suited my inclination. Many walkers in the park, who befriended me, extolled the greater glories of morning walks. They spoke of fresh air, oxygen being generated in the mornings, not to forget the morning glories of the sun rise.
I took all their well meant advice in my stride, and found that the evening time had equally good benefits to commend itself. I found that the setting sun, peeping through the trees in the park, presented an enchanting sight.
The birds were winging homewards, and those nesting in the trees, were no less than a symphony,in their bird songs. A fellow walker, gave me this bit of interesting information, that bird song is essentially meant to attract suitable bird mates,to impress them. The impressed lady then makes her choice of the most melodious male singer. I could not help but contrast this ritual with us humans. Since that is also what us males do,in various ways. And the sector 8 Gerhi Route is a continuation of such mating dances, with the younger group vying with each other in fancy SUVs, luxury cars with vanity numbers.
The ladies in the park are a serious lot, taking well deserved breaks from their busy schedules. After all, even the Supreme Court has said that Housework is valuable, priceless. And even the kitty parties can no longer be dismissed as frivolous, because us males are part of Couple Kitties, and liking the experience ! In short, the Bhartiya Nari is coming into her own.More power to her !
But enough with such musings. I must leave the serene surroundings of the park now. For tomorrow is another day !!
