PM Modi Recognizes IRS' Collective Efforts against Virus.
It is with pride that all of us, who belong to the IRS Community, serving or retired, read PM Modi's appreciation of the IRS' Collective efforts, in the national battle against the Covid 19 virus.
PM Modi mentioned that the IRS Community had contributed, to this battle, in various ways. The message also referred to the efforts to make people aware of the virus war. The IRS Association has been at the forefront in this battle.
Myriad individuals, members of the IRS family, have also joined the war against the virus. I know of many such valiant covid warriors, who shun the limelight, and do their bit. In my very small insignificant way, I have used my communication skills to project to the authorities suggestions to carry this fight to the virus enemy's bastions. For instance, my recommendations on Streamlining the Essential Commodities Supply, in Chandigarh, were published as highlighted recommendations,in The Times of India,Chandigarh Times, dated March 27,2020.
Since that time, the supply of essential commodities in Chandigarh, has considerably been streamlined. Many others had also given valuable suggestions through the media, and again the collective voices, have contributed to making a difference.
Let us keep up this battle against the virus,in our individual and collective ,ways.
The memorable lines of the Japanese visionary, Haruki Murakami, come to mind--
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
